I keep having to change the time on the clock in windows. I have Windows ME and it doesnt seem to be keeping time correctly. Every week or so it will end up being between 5-10 minutes slow.. I know because I run late because I rely on it to leave on time. any suggestions? thanks

make sure your computer is getting enough power, get a better power strip or even an UPS unit if you need one.

It isn't the fault of windows... it is the fault of your computer's internal clock. Internal clocks on PCs are notoriously bad and fluctuate quite a bit. Best was to solve this problem is to get a time synch program.

If your clock keeps losing time there is a pretty good chance your mobo's battery is going dead. That is a classic sign of a soon to be dead battery, go pick one up for $2 and fix it now before you wake up to a dead (only temporary) computer.

We use a little atomic time program at the office and when our IT guy got new systems with XP he loaded it on it:Q

Do you have a Microsoft page that shows the problem was fixed in XP. I believe you but need the confirmation of what the problem is and that it exists in W2k.

We have a system at work where the time is critical. It is losing about 3 seconds a day. We cannot connect it to the web.

What I really need is a Microsoft patch for W2K that will fix the clock and keep it accurate. I've looked at the MS site and haven't found anything like that.

Computer at home, I use dimension 4 to set the clock. Small program, works well.

To see how far your clock is off.

My friend's Dell had this problem. I kept resetting the clock or having it update to the right time and it would fall behind within a day. I searched Dell.com and it was a known problem with a download fix. Never would have guessed, but go try your vendor, there might be a fix.

Yeah, there was just a tiny bit of sarchasm mixed in with my original statement. My point being that if Microsoft had a "problem" with the time on older OS's, that everyone would want to go buy XP..... oh nevermind.
