Slow Boot win98 new system

Just build the system and installed OS.. cant get past windows 98 splash loading screen.. takes ages...

what are the problems that cause this?
 
The reason for that is because an OS like Windows 98 doesn't belong on a system with those specs. Windows 98 can't even handle more than 512MB of RAM. You must install Windows 2000, Windows XP, or Linux on that machine. Trying to get any Windows 9X based OS to work on such a great system will be a PITA because the Windows 9X line was always and always will be considered a POS for any resource intensive tasks.
