Slow Boot Time on SSD

I recently ran into problems and had to reinstall Windows 7. This was my first time having to reinstall an OS, everything seemed to go fine, except for my boot time. I used the format option on the Windows installation disc to format my SSD. Before I reinstalled, my boot time was 4-6 seconds, not it is 20+ seconds. Anyone know what the cause could be? I have an OCZ Vertex 3.

Do you have AHCI mode being used? Also for me the only thing I have set to enable under boot priorities is my SSD drive that has my OS on it. Also verify you are using the proper SATA port for your drive. Even though I already had a SSD, after getting a Samsung my bios turned on IDE mode.

I believe I am using the correct SATA port, my motherboard came had a cover specifically saying to use a certain port for SSDs.

Here is a screenshot as I don't know much about SSDs.

Will this do? It is a 120GB Vertex 3.

If that is indeed your drive you are off on your scores, you should be over 500 read. Your AS SSD score is 372.38. You might need to secure erase and redo Windows, as long as everything else is fine in the bios and the proper port is being used.

Alright, I'll do that. Now I checked that link and I don't think I can do that if my SSD is my boot drive, can I?

You need the PC running with Windows to do it, so either use another drive with the OS on it and plug it in another port, or take it out and use another running PC.

I don't know if I can do that, as I have no other desktops in my home. Will using Parted Magic work?
