Slow boot on WINME w/ASUS A7V HELP!

Alright guys I got a T-bird 900mhz, with an Asus A7V mobo, 256mbs of PC133 ram running on a peer to peer netowork with hub and cable modem, now when I bott in winME during the last session of the post...after checking IRQ settings etc I have a slight hang for a more then a minute then PC boots and Im up and running, PC runs fast as heck I get about 8000 3d benchmarks in 3dmark 2000 =)but I tried ripping out the NIC to see if it was just my network that windows was haviun fun with...nada...nothing..still slow boot...updated bios to v 2.01...still nutin...am I missing a setting in my SOFTMENU or what? Or do I need to update Bios again? please reply assap thanks!

If I remember correctly, A7V has this problem when using ATA66 hard drive on ATA100 controller. Tried upgrading to the lattest bios or something.

Do you have the promise drivers installed? Use the Build 25 drivers because the rest cause a delay when booting.

Cant find build 25 drivers on Promise homepage, downloaded build 19 tried to update, but windwos found that I already had that driver installed...

Are you using the ATA100 controler, if not disable it in the bios. The bios are looking for ATA100 devices connected to the controler, so if there aint any, disable it. If you cannot find such a setting install the latest bios, 1004d i think.
