That's the question really... my system sticks on the RAID controller screen for 10 seconds or so... and it says I can enter the RAID utility by hitting shif+s or F4, but when I do, it does nothing!

Asus A7N8X with latest BIOS

Its the part of the boot sequence that checks for RAID devices ... I couldn't find anything in the BIOS to disable it.... Any ideas anyone?

go to Intergrated Periphirals(or something like it)---->Serial ATA------->Disable (it's the serial ata chip that does raid)

The onboard RAID isn't controlled via BIOS, you have disable it by toggling a jumper on the board itself. Its located near the CMOS battery and the SATA controller near the case panel jumpers. Consult your manual for exact location.

Btw, this has been asked and aswered in the big thread A7N8X deluxe thread.

ok.... thanks.... sorry guys for not checking around the forum hard enough.....
I did have a look a week or two ago, but found nothing...
I had a feeling that it might be a jumper thing, as as far as I could see, there aint no settings in the bois to switch the damn thing off!
Cheers again!

I answered this question just yesterday - ther is a jumper on the motherboard as the previous post said.

I took the time to read the manual since after all it is a new board and new technology.

I will re-inforce the jumper idea.

I went through the same problem. I spent 5 minutes in the bios before finally coming to the conclusion it must be a "jumper-only" deal
