Slot loading CD-RW drive?

I was wondering if you guys knew if there was a place that sells SLOT-LOADING CD-RW drives. I just bought a slot-loading 16x pioneer DVD-ROM, and it would be nice to have a CD-RW drive to match. All that I seem to be getting when I search for the CD-RW drives is the slot-loading device in the Apple PowerBook.

Any help is appreciated greatly.

I would think that slot-loading CD-RW's would make a lot of coasters seeing as a tray gives the CD a constant level surface.

What? Have you ever seen inside a cd drive?, the tray is only used to pull the cd in then two little arms (one spins the disk) grab the cd around the center and lift it off the tray

I believe the Apple Powerbooks have 'em, but that doesn't help unless you can figure out the maker of the drive. But yes, very cool 🙂

I dont think anyone will ever make a slot load CD-RW. Theres no reason in taking the risk of a potential load problem on a drive when you could just set it in a tray.

There are adapters for those. I have several japanese cd singles, which are often the minidisc size cd, and you fit them into plastic adapters for slot-loading drives.
