is pioneer the only one who makes this?? if not, who else and which is the best?

i think slot loads are sweet!
 
aopen may make them...im not sure, but i know that pioneer makes their drives anyways...if u need a slot load, pioneer is the only way to go...on top of having the cool slot loading design, they are really great drives...i think the model # is 106s, but im not sure...someone else can help you on that!!!
 
Yes, the model number is 106s. It is the 16x slot load dvd drive. Excellent drive, it has digital outputs for the sound, and also front end jacks for headphones!
 
I have the Aopen 16x Slot from NewEgg.com. Its made by Pioneer, its just rebadged.

Only complaint is the noise, but my PlexWriter is almost as loud when reading CD's.
