Is it possile to turn a slot exhaust fan into an intake fan? I think the answer is no because I thought I would just flip the fan upside down, but since the cooling fan is solid on one side, I figured that it would work. just thought I'd ask to make sure...

Thanks!

Not sure, haven't tried, but I just thought I'd warn you about the Non-ballbearing slot fans. I bought a few from 3dfxcool, and 2 of them have burned up, jammed, and became HEATERS inside the case, causing random lockups... careful.

if it's the sqirrel-cage style fan, then no. it pushes air to the side, sucking it in from the center

If you were to wire it backwards it would still just exhaust, only not as well.

I thought about this as well and bought me aslot cooler. I couldn't get it to work as an intake fan, but I found another use for it instead. I put it on the bottom of the case blowing air from the bottom up towards the heatsink of the cpu (placeed it in front of the intake fan). It works well and it is really quiet.
