I've heard that tbirds don't run well on KX-133? If I get a slot tbird and put it on a K7V Slot mobo will it not run?

It may or may not run well. Your best bet for a Slot A T-Bird is an AMD chipset mobo, such as the MSI K7-Pro. The Slot A T-Bird was not designed for the KX133 chipset.

So if i ran the slot-a tbird on my K7M it would run well? Would there be a large performance difference between a socket-a tbird on a KT-133 and a slot-a tbird on the AMD751? Also which is better, overclocking via GFD on a slot-a tbird or pencil trick on a socket-a tbird?

It depends on what kind of performance you are after. Your AMD chipset Slot A board will not have the ability to run the RAM at 133MHz+, It is easier to unlock a Socket A Duron or T-Bird than removing the case on a Slot A, and purchasing a GFD if you don't already have one.

The AMD Slot A boards are a dead platform now. My Slot A K7-Pro T-Bird backup system is a good performer, but I much prefer the Socket A for my primary system & performance. As inexpensive as the Socket A processors and mobos are now, you would be much better off with a current system, In my opinion.

You can modify the ASUS K7V to run the T-Birds with no problems. A friend of mine just had his done and works great.

Can anyone provide a link that describes the modification necessary to allow the Asus K7V to run the T-birds?
