I have one of the Blaster kits on order with couple of weeks before delivery and would appreciate some suggestions on a CPU/Slocket/AGP card for the system.
I am not sure what the BIOS supports but it has jumpers for 50, 66, 75, 83, 100, 112 and 133FSB and lists PIII/Celeron processors as supported. The down side is that clock multipliers only go to 5.5 with jumpers. The AGP is rated at 2X.
So, I would like advice on the best CPU/slocket combintion with overclocking in mind. Understanding that I am in to a bang-for-the-buck system and am willing to drop money in to cooling, thermal compund, and a nice video card.
What video card would be the most reasonable? I would like ViVo and a TV tuner with a decent software bundle. But it must be able to work in an overclocked 440BX system.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I live in Dallas and will be going to the First Saturday sale to look around tomorrow. While it is not world famous for deals to rival AnandTech it did rate a spot on NPR a few years ago. It'll give me a chance to look around and perhaps apply some of your collective wisdom.
TIA,
M.C.
