Slot 1 Motherboard - Asus p3v4x?

Alright, I'd like a motherboard recommendation for my current situation. I just bought a GF2 32mb and can't get it to work with my crappy Biostar M6TBA BX motherboard. So I'm thinking I should go out and buy a new motherboard.

I currently have:
P2 450
128MB PC100 SDRAM (pretty sure)

Anyways, I'd like to keep the processor and ram the same for now, but would like to be able to upgrade to PC133 ram and the processor within the near future without having to buy a new mobo.

I was thinking of getting an ASUS P3V4X and buy a slocket for any future processor upgrades. Any thoughts or other recommendations?

You might wanna stay with the BX chipset, I highly recommend the MSI BX Master. But if you have to have AGP4x, get P3V4X.

My p3v4x is on their list. Yet it works great with my GeForce2 card. A list like that the one you linked to, which doesn't look like it's been updated in quite some time, can be a dis-service to consumers, not an aid.

Hmm, well I read those sites, but have heard conflicting info. Anyways, Asus makes GF2s and I believe their bios updates took care of the problem.

I'm impatient so I just bought the board off RupTheKid today. Said he'd be happy to refund if the two were incompatible. So we'll see when I try it out next week.
