Slot 1 HSF Question

I have a Retail PIII 850 with the stock HSF, Its getting or is fairly loud, Are there any quite Slot 1 HSF for sale, and if there are where can you buy them? Thanks for the info and help...

I used a golden orb with my o/clocked slot 1 p3 850. it was quiet & inexpensive!

Snuffy, If that is a retail PIII and the fan is dying, RMA it. You paid extra for a box retail 3 year warrantee CPU!

Also, a GORB is far from what I would call quiet.

Im not sure if the fan is dying, or that I am hearing it more now. I don't want to deal with RMA'ing it because it the only computer I have currently and I have many a term paper due soon, thanks for the info and help.

check out some shops around Austin for Slot A's....try Microchip computers, Tinkertronics, Star Tech (used to work there), or Laboratory computers...

The stock HS/F on a PIII slot 1 is extremely quiet. You wont find an aftermarket unit that makes less noise.

Its not very loud, just high pitched... thanks for websites and local stores info, Ill go looking after classes tommorow.
