i put this 160 gig drive that i pulled from an enclosure (it was a maxtor enclosure) that was dying, and after that, my pc took about 8 minutes to bootup. it hangs after the windows xp splash screen--just a black screen. and then i can see my desktop wallpaper after i login, but again itll hang after that for like 2 minutes.
i took out the 160 and i thought itd be all alright, but the same thing happened. so i figured, wel, if this happens either way, i might as well have more harddrive space 🙂
so i have nooooo idea what's wrong. if i shocked anyhting, which i think is really unlikely, you'd think that it wouldnt work at all, not just boot up slowly. especially that after it boots, it's just as fast as before. its reallllly bizarre.
im gonna reformat my system partition today and see if theres a difference, but other than that, any other ideas?
