I have a Soyo BBY6 slot one motherboard. I purchased an Iwill Sloket II adapter and the P3 700 FC-PGA processor. I attached the fan and all, inserted into the slot one slot and turned the computer on. To my surprise, I got a serious of beeps, like a siren. Everything was attatched correctly. I read on the SLoket II help that you need a motherboard that supports the correst voltage. I am guessing that mine does not support the 1.65v needed. I am now looking at the Powerleap PL-IP3 sloket adapter. This has a patented external power supply that is seperate from the motherboard. Can I buy this and it work? Thank you

Yea, the Iwill slotket adpater supports FCPGA CPUs. Thats what it was designed for!

I don't see Soyo BBY6 anywhere on their website.

my newbie assumption:
assuming he means the soyo sy-6bb
this is the board I have which only claims support for 433 cels

I tried (in the above sy-6bb) a 566 cu-mine 370 with a legend qdi slocket which appears to have an on-slocket regulator. NO GO

perhaps someone can enlighten me on my apparently incorrect assumptions:

1) the slocket is cu-mine rated thus takes care of the pin out differences of mendecino vs cu-mine

2)setting the voltage straps on the qdi slocket actually sets the
re-regulated voltage to the cu-mine by taking it's input to the on-slocket regulator from the 3.3v rail on the motherboard and ignores any voltage settings in bios?

2a) are those straps only forcing the motherboard to set it's regulator to the slocket-pretending-to-be-a processor new strap defined defaults?

3)the locked multiplier of the cu-mine means the motherboard need not have that actual multiplier setting in the bios to work?

all comments welcomed

Actaully, basicly converts 370 to Slot-1.

dwd3885, please look at the posts that follow your's. If necessary, go to Soyo's Web site and doublecheck the specs for your mainboard. There's a big difference between a Celeron 433 and any and all CII's.
