Slogging for Solitude

Search for sandcastles built by hermits,
parapets piled high by the earth?s combustion.
Listen for minuets from slinkering mice,
and rumbles from the pounding feet
of bears jumping from trees.
Step onto rock, watch out for
shoots of green between your toes.

Rocky cranes metallic frames, orange copper stains,
sit idly by. Idly sit by or watch, from your chambers,
run from your chambers. Leap from your chambers!

Where in your chambers can your chambers go when your
chambers go go go?

Withdraw from your chambers!
Hurry! Hurry! Hurry!
Go go go!

Green on green,
red tufts of green. Blue violet neon green
hammocks green, snow turned green
from the lint on your sweater.

Gradeschool soccer, grapes in the rocker,
my favorite shocker: Toasting toasters
stay away from the tub. Warning from
the sticker, flicker flick her, gradeschool
flicker, we saw the lightning burn a tree,
and I cried for mommy it destroyed my fort
my fort the fort destroyed my fort my fort.

Two hundred souls a minute get thrust into the landfill,
only one emerges before his time is up.

Hurry! Hurry! Hurry!
Go go go!
