Has anyone used a "slocket" on their FlipChip?
If so - how well did things work with respect to installation, cooling, and stability?

I'd like to get a 700e cheap, but the $220 ones are FCPGA and I have a slot 1 mobo.

Had no probs running a C366@550 on an Asus P2B, or the C550 and a P3 550 FC-PGA@733 on a P3B-F with an Iwill Slocket II. I don't think that the Vcc jumpers of the Slocket II are at all useful. I think it's probably best to look at the Core Voltage jumpers as decoration only, and set them to Default. It's built very well. With the Vcc proviso, I recommend the Iwill.

Celly II 600 @ 900 on Abit Slocket III... In my experience Abit slot adapters are NOT suck. :)

I am running a Sloket!!! on my BX6R2 with no problems. For best results (stability wise) you will want one made by your mobo company if possible.

Abit Slocket!!! here and all is very good, see sig. Also, I have tried the MSI and the Iwill and got the exact same results with the same PIII 600e@800.

The only stories I have heard about slocket problems are with the C2 chips. It appears the Cumines are indifferent. Of course the are some war stories out there that claim a certain brand got tem to a higher level. I often wonder if they just got a better glaze seal the 2nd time around. Anyhow, the Abit!!! is not suck IMO.

Using a MSI master My 533 does 936mhz @ 1.79volts.Same chip with generic slotket 1.76 just to get 840. Obviously a crappy slotket but your better off avoiding the cheap ones.
