slo mo videos

I searched for a similar problem but found nothing so bear with me.

Anyways most of the time when I play a video over the net, my video
appears in slow mo. This I thought was caused when streaming only but it also happens sometimes on downloaded files, and only in windows media player it seems.

any ideas how to fix that? suggestions?

what soundcard do you have? sometimes when i have sample rate selection on auto, it will switch to a differant rate which causes all my videos to be slow motion. see if u can force 44.1khz or something
