SLK900u does not cover the complete 2.4c ? Fixes?

I just installed a SLK900u on a friends computer. He is running a Abit board and a 2.4c CPU. Now I noticed that the thin base does not cover the completed chip. Like the thickness of a quarter on both sides, is this OK?

It'll be alright, but obviously you wont get full heat transfer 😉

Thats why they built the 947. It has a wider base for P4 IHS's, and a slightly different mounting plate

It only gets hottest right over the core anyways. I think you'll be fine.
