My ambient room temperature is 16C
My system temperature (due to the massive amount of CFM air being moved) is also 16C
My CPU is 24C after 1, 2 3 4 and 5 hrs of Prime95

Is 24C extremely low?

16C is 60 degrees F, now that is a cool room, but it is by no means FRIGID

24C is 75 degrees F

Should I just switch out my tornado off of the top of this, stick a slower fan on it, and then use it for case cooling (hooked up a fanbus to control the speed?)

I believe it... Sounds like you got a ridiculous amount of airflow... I don't see why not.

That's fine, but is the noise worth it? The same cpu should be fine at 40c and a lot less noise.

I"ve got an slk-900 with a panaflo 92mm L1A and I'm running about 32-34C under prime95 torture test after 10hrs. ambient room temp is 70F.

I don't want to hijack this thread, but since it was about maybe too much cooling I was wondering if I don't have enough. I'd like to overclock it a bit, but I"m not sure how far I can push it. System spec are in my sig.

Man, if you are at 34ºC now you should be able to overclock like crazy and keep it under 40ºC
I don't like to go above a 40ºC cpu temp, but thats nothing to pay any attention to... athlons should be able to function well into the 50's and 60's

Those seem like some really low temps for air cooling, but the Tornado moves a lot of air. If you don't mind the noise, great. But really, you don't need it to be that low. I don't like to see mine get much over 50. I have the SLK800 w/ a YS Tech 80mm on a 1600+ @ 1743 and it runs at about 41C full load.

What kind of processor are you running this combo with?
