what is the differance between SLK-800 and SLK-800-U?

On the thermalright website SLK-800-U has more complex instalation...how about performance?

Which one would you guys recommand?

the performance is identical, the only difference is that the 800 U used nuts and bolts as the retention mechanism and the regular one uses the clips. i like the U cuz you can use it with amd and intel boards

right, the slk800U uses bolts to attach to the mobo so it can be used by amd and intel mobos grant it they have the holes on the mobo. the slk800A uses clips and can only be used with AMD mobos

The SLK800 can also be used with Intel Socket 370 boards. :)
