Anyone geting a DFI Infinity or an Abit NF7-S along with a SLK-947U, should be warned that it will NOT FIT unless you buy the Neo Backplate, which i can only find at svc.com and is also sold out there also. Just warning people, i found out the hard way....:S

Boards that NEED the Backplate:
Abit NF7-M
Abit NF7-S
DFI Lanparty NF2 Ultra-B
DFI Lanparty Inifinity NF2 Ultra

I saw that after I bought the SLK-947U for my Athlon and the NF7-S board and almost RMA'd it before it got to my house. I figured I might as well try it. It fit nicely. I don't know why, but it seems 50% of the people who try it can make it work, and the rest cannot. Check the ratings of it at newegg.com, some say they could fit it in their NF7-S board fine, others say they needed the backplate. Weird.

May be a dumb question.... but exactly where does it NOT fit?

I just installed on on my NF7 a few days ago and never knew about the neo backplate. One thing that I will need to change is a stand off that was already screwed in the case. I didn't notice it until I had the board back in and couldn't get one screw to start. I looked closer and could see that a small section of the pack plate, I'm talking hair thin, was preventing the screw from going in straight. I then checked the stand off and the back plate and could see that they were touching against each other just a tad. It wasn't enough to notice when I placed the board down.

Apparently earlier version of NF7-S V2 had capacitors even closer to the CPU. Current version of this mobo is ok.
Mine just barelly fit (almost touching capacitors).
