Just got the SLK 900A with a Zalman ZM-F 92mm fan. (Thanks Anandtech Hotdeals!!)

The mounting brackets (wires) with the 900 don't seem to work. Any thoughts on best way to attach fan. Am I missing something with the brackets? I'm plenty experienced with building, etc., but don't want to re-invent the wheel. Anyone have the same combo?

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the link Boyracer. I tried the holes marked, "92 x 25" and still no luck. I wonder if the three different-sized brackets that came with the 900 don't fit a 25 mm thick fan. If not, I can jury-rig something with the largest bracket.

I'll keep plugging along unless someone has any other suggestions.

Thanks again.

hmmm... i just bought one for my brother too... along with a 92mm panaflo u1a. i'm positive its the 2nd holes from the top... you're going to have to squeeze the clips to make it clip on the fan... i thought i put it in the wrong holes the first time since it didn't look like it was going to fit... but hey it did... after dragging it up to the fan. :)

yup...it is a tight fit....as it must hold the fan on during movement and all, it isn't just gonna barely keep hold of it

Moktaw,

I have the same setup excpet with a sunon 80mm. I was running a delta 92x25 and even a 120x25.. always the fit is extremely snug. Doesn't make sense that you are having issues.

If you want I would be happy to give you the dimensions of my 92mm brackets and we can compare them to yours... maybe there was a bad lot of brackets and they made the bends incorrectly. PM me if you want me to take some quickmeasurements. .

Hello All!

Just got back into town and tried tugging the largest bracket over the fan. Works like a charm but you have to pull pretty hard. Once it's on, looks like it's not going anywhere.

Great info from everyone. Now let's see how hard I can crank my XP 2500 with this new cooling.

Quick question. The fan should point down and blow into the HS, right?

Thanks again. AT rocks!!

Sorry I missed this thread. I had the same experience with my SLK 900.

I was soooo afraid of snapping the clips that I wouldn't pull on them very hard.

Now to answer your new question:

Yes, the fan should blow down - into the HS.

Enjoy! :)

Thanks DOSfan. You have to pull pretty hard but when the clips are finally up, it looks solid.

Seems like I read somewhere that some folks were trying to set up the fan to suck the hot air away from the HS and pull in cooler air. Didn't make any sense to me but I thought I better ask.

Thanks again.
