SLK-800 Users!

Hi guys,

I curently have a Vantec Aeroflo cooling my 2100+(10.5 * 200 @1.65). I currently run 41 degrees idle, which is ok with me, except that my fan is way too loud at 38db. I am thinking of purchasing a SLK-800 with either a panaflo or a vantec stealth. For those of you with this setup, are you getting decent overclocks, or are these two fans not adequate enough? I am happy with the currents temps I have now, I just wish to make my system quieter. Please let me know what you guys think.

With my overclock (see sig) and a panaflow ultra on the SLK-800 my cpu temp sits about 15C above case temperature. Right now the case temp is 32C and the cpu temp is 47C. When the room gets really hot I might see a max of 51C or 52C on the cpu.

I've got an 800a on my DUT 1700 with a Panaflo H1A, which works very well.(2205MHz, 10.5x210, 1.8V)

I originally had a Vantec Stealth 80MM on the sink, but once I got my FSB up to the 200 area, and had to raise CPU voltage correspondingly, it was not doing the job (but was very quiet!)

The Panaflo is doing a great job. I recently switched cases to a Compucase LX-6A19, which has 2-120MM fans for cooling. Idle temps are 41-42C, and normal load running SETI is 46C.

My only caution about this HS is that they require maintenance....the fins are very close together, and a little dust buildup will cause a temp jump quickly!

i have an SLK-800A (the one without mounting onto the MB) and a vantec stealth with 1700+ @2200, runs about 47C load and 40C idle, with the heat so far, but in like midmay or so, it was around 36-45

so you think the panaflo performs better than the vantec stealth? I thought the stealth pushed for cfm? Maybe I am wrong.

edit : didn't realize it was HA1.

what do you guys recommend, panaflo LA1 or Vantec Stealth?

I'd go for high output because it's still very quiet. Personally I'm happy with my Thermaltake SLK900-U on my P4 with a Thermaltake Smartfan 2 running 4800RPM which is 48dBA at 75.5CFM 🙂

it is loud but when I am on here I'm usually listening to music or playing a game or whatever
