Im looking at the SLK-800U due to my crystal ball predicting US -> UK shipping costs being rather decent and I have heard that many ppl fit a 92mm fan on top of these behemoths.

Can it be done without bending the clips?

Yes it can be done. There was a post in here with picts but I can't remember who had the thread. I am running one on mine and it works fine. I will admit that it doesn't have a perfect feel to it when snapping the clip over the fan housing, but it looks fine and holds perfectly well. I think I used the 3rd hole from the top for my clips.

There has been some discussion as to the hub size of the 92mm versus the 80mm, but both of my Antec Smart Fans had the same size center hub and I can't tell that it blocked any of the air. It runs at 2250 and is quieter than the 80's that I had been using. I hear the Panaflow L1A is a great fan for this HS but haven't had the need to try it.

Hope this helps.

i have my 92mm panaflo rotated 45 degrees on my slk800.

i couldnt figure out how to put it on the correct way. on the upside, the fan also blows on the chipset's heatsink.

here is the thread, the picture is in the 4th post. that's how i put my fan too.

does anyone know if non-rotated way gives better results?
