I'm building a new system with Nf4 mobo, i only have an Win XP upgrade version
right now, is it possible to slipstream this version? I've read somewhere that
if you use the new Nf4 boards the min. required OS are Win 2000 sp4 and Win Xp,
is this true? OS i have at home: 98,98se,Mill.,2000 & Xp home upgrade ver.

TIA

It may be possible. The only problem I could see is some essential XP files or folders not included in the upgrade version. You could always give it a try and see. I don't see any problems beyond that. If you use a slipstream utility and it asks for the XP files, and it reads them from the XP upgrade disk, your golden. I would make sure to slipstream service pack 2 on there for XP as well.

Good luck!

Also,
Here's links for additional info if you need it. Not sure if it any of it will answer your questions, but just a little extra stuff incase you see something you like:

From winsupsersite. Great guide from Paul T.

Guide linked from TweakXP.com

Just plain laid out for you.

How about windows 2000 w/ sp4 possible?

You can slipstream Windows 2000 as well. If you have XP, why would you need to?

Why do i need W2000 sp4? I was thinking of getting either MSI nf4 or DFI nf4 ultra.
I've read the MSI manual and the required min. OS is windows 2000 w/ sp4.
So if thats true i need the w2000 installed first then upgrade it with XP (upgrade ver
only). If i had the full version i wouldn't have to right. Correct me if i'm wrong pls.

You can install the upgrade version of XP from scratch. At some point during setup you will need to insert your 2000 (or 98 or ME) CD for upgrade verification, but beyond that there's no need to install 2000 first.

Wow that's nice, thanks for the info. Now i just need to
make that xp sp2 slipstream. Just need to find the right
software to do it. I only have the nero 5.5, seems like i need
the nero 6, i have the easy cd creator but not platinum and it
doesnt do iso burning. Thanks again!
