slipstreaming problems

ok -- trying to slipstream SP2 onto my original windows install cd. copied my windows install cd to the hard drive, and downloaded the "Windows XP Service Pack 2 for IT Professionals and Developers" on the microsoft downloads section.

when i try to use the "run" dialog and type "C:\XPSP2.exe -s:C:\XPCD" the files are extracted, but afterwards i get an error saying "This Service Pack cannot be integrated into a destination that also has integrated Software Updates."

i understand what that means, but did i download the wrong service pack? or is something else wrong?

hey -- can somebody at least point me in the direction of where to download the correct SP2? thanks

By the sounds of it, you already got the right one. But I can't be sure.

This site is the best resource you can get.

It looks like you're using the wrong switch to extract the files... try opening a cmd.exe window:

(assuming you save the above file to C:\)
C:\>WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.exe -x:c:\SP2
C:\>cd\sp2\i386\update
C:\sp2\i386\update>update.exe -s:c:\path_to_where_you_copies_the_xp_cd

And off you go.
