Slipstream preinstalled applications into a windows installation disk

I've been search the net but have failed to find a good explanation on how you can have applications installed within a windows installation disk.

i.e. when reformatting and installing windows it automatically has VLC installed rather than windows media player. This is just an example but I am looking for a way to have a fully customized windows installation.

Thanks

I knew you could slipstream M$ updates into the disk but I wasnt aware of doing this with applications. I will have to look into vlite further.
