Well I purchased a Asus eeeBox 1012 and a Slingbox Pro-HD. Guess I shouldn't expect much with an Intel Atom 330. Running the SlingPlayer, the cpu usage is constantly running at 80-100, more times 85-95.

Not sure it's worth dumping Windows 7 Home Premium and running linux of some sort.

Little disappointed!

At first I was thinking it was all to do with slingbox, because my laptop seemed to stutter too. But when I was on support with slingbox they reset something. Now my laptop runs it just fine, no issues. Not so sure about this Asus eeeBox. Maybe it's just the slingbox application is so demanding that an Atom 330 can't hack it.

BUddy of mine is wondering how it would work for MS Office and Itunes.

Basic office suite tasks (such as Word and Excel) should run just fine on an Atom processor (hell my EEE 1000HA runs it rather well with 2GB of RAM). For iTunes it should be sufficient for music listening. Not sure about podcast video (in H.264 quality), but if it is an ION platform, your buddy shouldn't have too many problems with it.

Hope that helps
