OK what can i uninstall from this Thinkpad that i do no need? There seems to be alot of IBM software install? Whats what and what do i do not need.

Thanks,
Chris

Isn't that something you should ask yourself? What IBM proggies do you want or not want? Uninstall the ones you don't want using the Thinkpad Software Installer.

Not much I'd get rid of.

I'd drop Access IBM - which get's launched by the blue button while within the OS. THough the new version of it is the bomb and gets released Aug 30th.

New version of Rescue and Recovery comes out as well on the 30th. --- You'll need to uninstall the old version to install the new -well worth it.

You WANT access connections..... It's just plain awesome.

You may want to uninstall the message center.

Other than that... TP's come fairly stripped anyway.

Don't forget Battery Maximizer 😉 A MUST for a Thinkpad user. I recently got a briefing on how cool company X's power management software for their new laptop is, all the while I was thinking how much like IBM's it was 😉

I don't use Message Center at all, but I use Batt Max all the time. I could almost live w/out Access Connections just 'cuz Windows is good enough for me, but it is still cool 😉

I'm between a few different company locations and home on a weekly basis so Access Connections is really awesome for me... switching my default printer and homepages on the fly.

I also leave in a profile called hhonors...... Which most Hilton hotels have as their default name for their wireless service. Picks it up everytime with no need to config a new profile.
