Slimline Drives - Dumb Question

I currently own a Dell 4600C and was wondering if I could purchase the NEC slimline drive from Newegg and install it in my computer. I'm not too familiar with slimline drives and I'm not sure if this one would work in my desktop computer. Thanks for any help.

did a quick search on Dell's forums and it appears that they're using a standard slim line drive there, so you should be able to swap it with the NEC your looking at with no problems.

EDIT: ahh, started loading the page, saw DESKTOP, and didn't keep reading.. my mistake.

The doctor should pay more attention 😉

The Dell is a SFF PC that uses a standard slimline drive. From the internal shots it looks like the necessary adapters and wiring are all there to accept any other slimline CD device.

Shouldn't be a problem then, just to be sure buy from a place that has a good returns policy.
