Anyone notice the latest review article thread was deleted? I guess slim shady (aka anand) didn't want to answer my inquiry about the massive banner onslought lately and I am sure he doesn't want to cut back on that cash flow. The good old days are gone when the site was easy to navigate and some HEART was put into the reviews, now it seems to be just another buissness venture website. Just my Rant and 2 cents.

What do you mean deleted?

Your rant sucks. He has to make money somehow, do you think it's cheap to keep this site running?

The forums alone use 2600gb/month. I can't imagine what anandtech.com uses. :Q

Gone are the good old days when the cost of operating a small site was low. Welcome to the new anandtech, where millions of people visit every month driving the bandwidth costs way up. If you are neglected and feel unappreciated, then make like a banana and split!

The ads are annoying, that is a fact. However the thing that bothers me the most is the lack of punch in the reviews. Back when I first discovered this site the reviews were really in depth and you could count on them being a good basis for purchasing a product. Now it seems like the real depth is gone. Yes the reviews still go into more depth than...oh PC World, but they aren't what they used to be. There are also not nearly as many fresh reviews as there were in the past. I can remember the times when it seemed like there was a new review every day. Oh well....at least AnandTech is still light years ahead of Tom's Hardware.

The tech industry is pretty slow now though. I don't want Anand to start reviewing every useless sh!t for the sake of updating it everyday, like so many sites on the net.

That's what I was going to say. There just isn't much happening anymore.. The reason the days of a new review everyday are gone is because the days of something new everyday to review are gone.

Yeah....I suppose that is true. I guess I just long for the days when the industry was moving so fast it made your head spin.

yeah, I've noticed the same thing about [lack of] reviews in the last year or two. what do you mean the industry is moving slowly? I'm not doubting you, but *how* is it moving slowly exactly, and why? will it ever move quickly again?

Because the tech bubble burst. Heh.

I imagine that it will pick up again, eventually. Something will happen to spur rapid development....
