Slim Keyboard

I currently own a Logitech Wave that I use for pretty much anything I do (internet, gaming, work at home, etc). Overall I find it's pretty good and have no complaints. However, I recently had the opportunity to type on a Logitech illuminated keyboard. I found I really liked the slim design and lower keys. It just feels better to type on.

I'd buy that for the design, but I really don't want illuminated keys, it's an absolutely useless feature to me (never look at the keyboard and would only be annoying). Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like Logitech sells the same keyboard without the lights.

Thus, what I'd be looking for is a similarly built keyboard: slim, low keys, obviously decently built, preferably wired and good for all purposes. Also, I usually prefer hardware that is more generic looking (i.e. my computer case is a lancool/lian-li, if that gives you an idea). Does such a keyboard exist? :awe:

If you do much gaming, you'll want to stay away from that keyboard - it has severe ghosting problems with WSDA keys - check the newegg reviews for more details.

I just bought the Microsoft Sidewinder x4 and its a great keyboard, especially for the price. You can turn the illumination completely off. The keys aren't quite "slim" but you may want to check it out.

Yes, I've heard of the ghosting issues. It doesn't look like it affects everyone, but I want to stay safe. Good that the illumination can be turn off, though.

It seems what I'm looking for is actually quite rare. The moment a keyboard becomes slim it seems most companies assume it's meant to be a light, portable and often crappy product :sneaky:

Are you guys talking about K800? Haven't really noticed any lag, but then again maybe my response time is derp-like so I can't tell.

not lag...it's the keyboard not recognizing certain key combinations like W + Shift + Space. it seems some of the K800's suffer this problem, some don't.

mine works fine, but even if it didn't i like the form factor too much to change.

Oh boo.

Well I haven't done FPS/MMO gaming in a while so I haven't come across the need for 3 key combos, but it would suck if mine had that problem if I do get back into that scene.
