Slim CD Jewel Case Storing DVD's

I heard someone say that if you store DVD's in those Slim CD Jewel cases, the DVD's will get damaged. Is there any truth to this?

Short of leaving them on the dashboard in the hot sun, no, you're not going to damage them just because it's in a slim case.

It would be more likely that it could be accidentally physically broken because of less material in the make up of the case, I suppose.

Most of my DVDs are in the slims, but I recently went back to normal sized jewel cases after living with the crappy 'claws' of slims. The case is too flexible for my liking so most of my more expensive software (windows, collector's editions) are back in full sized cases.

I just heard that when they made the slim jewel cases for cd's , the center thing is just a hair bigger than if it were for DVD. Any truth to this?

Got of of all jewels, slim and fat, long ago. They are lousy for mailing. Instead, I use these little clamshell guys - cheap, strong and very protective. Excellent for mailing.

Agreed ... slim cases are lousy for Mailing, for Labeling & as stated, the EARS tend
to break off Very Easily ... either a normal 1 cd jewel case or if you want to be fancy
spring for the ones that the factory uses ... Staples & others have them and most
programs such as Avery can provide the correct label stock & work with them to
make nice looking labels
