Hey guyz, some of u may notice that I planned to buy an HD5770 and replace my PALIT 9800 GT 1GB Green Edition with it, but I think I'll get better performance from SLI'ing it with another PALIT 9800 GT 1GB green edition, or maybe another 9800 GT, maybe not even PALIT or green editon....

Questions:
1. Has anyone tried doing SLIing two PALIT 9800 GT 1GB Green Editions? can u submit me a benchmark Crysis or 3dMark?

2. If I pair a 9800 GT green editon, with a normal non-green one or one with less memory or one from a different manufacturer(in short, two different kind of 9800 GT's), will it work?

3. is it necessary for the mobo to hav SLI-certification?

4.shud the PSU really need SLI-certification?

5. What LGA775 chipsets can SLI support?

I'll be in charge of selling my Coolermaster EX 390 and buying a more capable PSU

I really wanna get rid of my Intel mobo which doesn't let me OC my processor so i don't really care if getting a new SLI mobo will be too costly; this counts as a valid excuse to get a new one

1. I did not have 9800 GT Green Edition, but had two 8800 GTs in SLI. They are very similar, performance-wise.

2. I don't see why not. It should work but with the lower common denominators. (clocks, memory size, etc.)

3. Yes. There are hacks but every driver update will break them so I don't think anyone would go for that route for a 24/7 system.

4. No. As long as the PSU has what it takes, certification is not necessary. Besides which, the certification itself has become not so reliable as GPUs become more powerful. A 520W PSU certified for SLI 3 years ago won't run GTX 480 SLI, for example. (Though for 9800 GT SLI any certified PSU is likely sufficient)

5. nForce 6 series and 7 series, specifically 650i/680i and 750i/780i/790i. 790i requires DDR3.

All is said and done, I would personally get a GTX 460 than purchasing another 9800 GT for SLI.
