"This blog has found no shortage of evidence that Microsoft?s Windows Vista is not taking the world by storm. Buyers of new PCs don?t have much choice?they?re going to get the operating system by default. But companies are dragging their feet, concluding that the benefits of Vista don?t compensate for the hassle and expense of upgrading their systems to use it.
Intel would seem a likely exception. Not only is the chip maker Microsoft?s longtime partner in setting PC standards, but elements of Vista could show off the power of Intel?s latest microprocessors and graphics technology.
That?s on the demonstration stage, however. Intel has not deployed Vista across its own operations, and shows little sign of doing so soon. The Inquirer, a British Web site that is fond of calling Intel Chipzilla, reported Monday that a memo is circulating that says Intel has decided not to adopt Vista ever."
