I was playing Madden with my son; suddenly, the disc started making a hideous vibration sound in the xbox. Quickly turned it off, and the disc was fine. A few days later, my son was really bummed out; turns out it happened again and there was a hairline crack, about 1 inch long from the center toward the outside, that wasn't all the way through; just in the surface. Holding it *just right*, the crack completely disappears. But, just laying there, the crack is visible.

Repairable?
Are there any liquids with the same index of refraction that could be used to "seal" the crack? (making it permanently invisible)

Thanks!

I would try to get a replacement from EA... if you put that back in there it might shatter and screw up your Xbox.

Curious, how old is your Xbox? Was it purchased in 2005?

Purchased toward the end of the summer '06. It seems that microsoft denies that their xbox could ever damage a dvd - I've seen many many complaints about problems, particularly with the concentric circles etched in.

Curious, never had console, but can't you copy xbox game just like regular DVD, or does xbox detect it's a copy and refuses to play? What if you set book type to DVD-ROM is it still going to refuse to play?

Hmm... It's quite possible that the defect was in the disc itself.....

That's where you would normally find the fault in a scenario like this.
