Slight W2K problem

I just bought and installed the Lite-On 24102B CD/RW (24/10/40). It seems to work ok if I use the Nero software that came with it but W2k only recognizes as a CD-Rom not a CD/RW. Is there anything that can be done about this? Thanks
 
there is no cd-burning built in to win2k, so why does it matter? it just sees it as a cd drive because all it can do is read from it anyways.

your burning software is the one that detects if its a cdrom or a cdrw, and if it works there, then nothing is wrong.

youre making this harder than it is 🙂
