Slight problem with right click

Don't know if this can go here or needs to be in computer help, move if necessary.

I have a slight problem with a windows XP install where every time you right click the windows installer briefly pops up and then disappears.

I've done some searching on the problem but the only solutions I have found are to uninstall and reinstall any program that ties in to the right click menu which I have already done. Or to turn off windows installer and turn it on every time you need to install something, which seems like a big hassle and not something the user of the computer can do.

Anybody have any good solutions?

Try the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility. See if there are any apps in the list that has been uninstalled, if so remove it. This is a problem that in some cases is not so easy to fix, best solution is to uninstall the software that is causing the problem and look for an alternative. In the past I've had this happen with HP printer drivers/software, Adobe Pro, and Installshield. I replaced the HP with a Canon, Adobe with an older version, and Installshield with Installaware.
