I have a PlyGem sliding door and the slider screen is trashing out. No amount of adjustment smooths the thing out and the screen needs to be replaced. Is there a cost effective replacement for it??

pics would be good. usually you can replace the rollers, they may have flat spots in them. replacing the screen is easy. is the little flange on the door frame clean and in good shape? how about the top track?

That's given me some thing to check...I will look at them today...would be nice if i could upgrade the screen to stainless steel or similar strength..

aluminum usually, a bit harder to install over the normal stuff. often local hardware stores or glass places will do screens if you want a pro to do it.

Sliding screen doors usually have plastic rollers. They get damaged pretty easily.

If yours are bad, be sure to take one with you as a sample. There are LOTS of different ones on the market.
