Slick laptop for Photo editing

I was thinking of getting a 15" Powerbook (starts at $2000), but then I came across Sony's Z1 series (starts at $2100).

Here's the comparison:

Powerbook:
1GHz or 1.25 GHz G4
166 Mhz bus
512 MB L2 cache
15" screen @ 1280x854 resolution

Sony:
1.5 GHz to 1.7 GHz Centrino
400 MHz bus
1GB L2 cache
14" screen @ 1400x1050 resolution
and I think Windows is still the better OS

both looks sharp and slick. checkout www.apple.com/powerbooks and www.sony.com/vaioz1

Is it just me, or is the Sony with its Centrino, 400MHz bus, 1GB L2 cache will kill the G4 in Photoshop and Freehand and the sort?

-edit-
not to mention the Sony has a significantly larger resolution.

I have set up a number of those sony's for customers -- it is extremely nice and quite fast. the screen is just beautiful....

dew.

On paper it would appear that the Sony would have the advantage. I have yet to see a review of the Sony, but if you are multitasking while editing in Photoshop the Apple would be the way to go. This is because of the memory instruction set in OSX vs Windows. If you won't be multitasking then the Sony would probably be the way to go.
