Slick Deals

pontifex

Lifer
I joined slick deals a little while back and made some deal alerts. Since then I've bought tons of PS3 games...

I just bought SF4 today for 19.99 off Gamestop. I just got 3 games for like $30 last Friday.

I just keep buying stuff I don't necessarily need but I do want it. I keep seeing good deals and can't stop buying!!!

Slick Deals is going to make me go broke!!!*

* not really but it almost seems that way.

target clearance stuff?

Prince of Persia, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Soul Calibur 4 - from gamestop. They had a buy 2 get one free deal, plus they had like a % off coupon, and then 10% off with the Edge card.

Dude I know!

Since they started this whole $20 deal thing at Gamestop this month, I've bought Force Unleashed, Bionic Commando, Prince of Persia, SF4, FEAR 2, and HAWX. Add to that the $22.50 deal on Endwar at Target for the game w/ headset, Wii Sports Resort and 2 extra WM+ add-ons, and I've spent way more on games this month than I normally do.

Time for a game buying break until maybe L4D2.

Curse Gamestop and their every third week B2G1 used sales. The last time they had one, I wound up getting Blue Dragon, Marvel Ultimate Alliance/Forza 2, Prince of Persia, Advance Wars: Days of Ruin, Soul Calibur 4, and de Blob. And I've just now picked up Street Fighter 4.

I am a weak, weak person.

It's a good thing I get free giftcards to Gamestop every so often. Picked up SF4 yesterday, wouldn't have if I had to use cash.

Seriously, curse them!!! I've bought so many games, that I don't know when I'm even going to play them. I've picked up so many RPGs also, and you figure each RPG is at least a 40 hour game time commitment, and I can squeeze maybe 10-15 hours per week in. Uggghhh....I think I'm going to get fat and have Cheetos breath and odor.

my backlog is probably pushing 30+ games. Not including the games that I may have played for a few hours just to check out the game like SFIV and RE5.

I have a problem 😀

I feel the same way! I don't know why, but whenever I see a game that is on sale, I just have to buy it. It doesn't matter if it's from SlickDeals, GoGamer, Steam's weekend deals, Target's clearance, wherever... Even though I have about 10 or so games that I have barely played and need to complete, I always justify buying a game thinking that I'm eventually going to buy and play it later on down the road, so I might as well just buy it while it's cheap. If only there was more time in my world to play games...

how do you get free giftcards?

I'm only buying games I want when I see them on sale. I wont buy a game I'm not interested in just because it's on sale.

I hear you. Not that I watched TV anyway, but pretty much any TV time I could spend is spent playing all the gaming goodness I have available in my house.

Also, damn Amazon.com for having descent trade-in values for some of my older games and bonus money for trading in certain dollar amounts. I've shifted a lot of my game collection around, which has me purchasing a quickly growing library of XBox 360 games now. Speaking of RPGs, I've now got to find time for Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, and Mass Effect.

Still, having such problems is quite a blessing really. 🙂

E-rewards surveys, I believe. I'm halfway to another one myself, just used the last $7 on my previous one yesterday.

I did that with Genji on the $5 used games at Hollywood Video. That's how I grabbed The Darkness as well, but I had been thinking of Folklore, and the Hollywood Video cases only have a shot of the game on front, and controls on the back. I wouldn't actually say I wasn't interested in Genji, I just couldn't remember anything about it.

I feel the same way about cheapassgamer sometimes.

You'll have backlog binges and purges. It's just the way it is.

I've purged my backlog twice and it's starting to creep up on me again.

God I know.

But I made out like a bandit on the Hollywood Video deal a couple weeks back.

Haha, my "backlog" is more like a time capsule at this point. Seriously. I bought SF4 when it was on sale at Target for $37 a couple weeks after it came out, which was a great deal. I didn't touch it until this week. When it was 19.99 at game stop. I feel like a bit of a chump.
