I currently own x1 EVGA 8800 GTS and I plan to buy a new EVGA card probably a 295. Will I be able to run both in SLI? I have never tried to setup SLI before so sorry for the noob question.
 
Might be hard to find a 295 soon not long ago there were like 7 in stock at newegg lol its EOL (End of Life) soon if not already.
 
I am slowly building a new i7 system and I was going to hold off buying a video card till the last minute. Most likely by the time I buy all the other parts a new model will be out there, but thanks for the clarification.
 
They have to be the same model not necessarily identical cards. IE one can be stock clocked while the other is factory overclocked - the result here is both run at the slower clocks.
