Dear Friends,

I need your help with my A8n-Sli.

My system consists of:

1x A8N-Sli Motherboard 1002 BIOS
2x XFX 6800GT PCI-E (Sli Ready)
1x 74GB Raptor
2x 512MB OZC PC4400 RAM

I also have an Audigy 2 ZS Soundcard, but that is not installed yet.

The problem is that with the parts installed as detailed above, XP/BIOS will not register resources (IRQ) to the graphics cards. At present I am running in 640*480 in 4 bit colour.

I reinstalled windows but no joy.

Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

Cheers

Mav

Install the chipset drivers? Which graphics drivers did you install? What OS? What SP's? What psu?

That's not an IRQ fault. It looks like the BIOS isn't allocating any resources past legacy VGA resources.

Try a PCI VGA card just for the proof, and look for BIOS updates. Early adopter's joy ...

PSU = OCZ Powerstream 520w

Installation order:

WinXp Home
Service PK2
Chipset Drivers
Graphics Driver 66.77 then 66.93

Control panel - System

Shows Cards but both report not enough resources to allocate.

Help!!

Sussed it.

The PCI-E Connectors supplied with the XFX have the 6-pin connector to the card and two molex females coming out of them. I had (due to lack of spare molex power leads) just connected to one side.

I did this because there are no PCI-E instructions with the GFX (manual is for AGP??).

Now I have made an extra molex available and made sure all of the connections have power, probl;em solved.

Man, this new technology is great, if only they explained how to use it!!??

Cheers for teh posts guys, I really appreciate your quick replies.
