I've been having overheating problems since its been really hot here in NY and i dont have any A/C. I first thought that it was a driver issue but I tried about 5 different drivers and the same thing happens. I noticed that it happens while under a certain amount of action on screen while playing games like halflife 2 or during a certain area in 3dmark03 where there is alot of grass/trees/river moving on screen. I haven't been able to catch the temperature but I turned off my computer for a bit and when I turned it on and played halflife 2 I noticed that it lasted alot longer than it usually does. What usually happens when my computer crashes is ill start seeing little green squares that kinda blink real fast and then after a while I see more and more until wall and object textures look like they are mashing together then it locks up. I noticed that my 2nd card is always hotter than my first card, even when it was above my other card it was a higher temp so I thought maybe the fan isnt spinnin fast enough and I was wondering if there was a way to speed it up if that was the problem. Right now my card thats always the coolest is at 64C and the bottom card is at 70C

Is there a way to check the speed on the fan on the cards? Is there a way to log the temperatures since I won't be able to check them while playing ingame? How do I check if certain hardware is getting the right amount of volts or maybe its not getting what it should be.. alot of this I'm not sure to do but it really seems like a overheating problem to me..but my system specs are

Asus A8n-Sli Deluxe
2x Geforce 6800U in SLI
amd athlon 64 fx-55
SB Audigy 2 ZS
2x DiamondMax 10 200GB
OCZ EL DDR PC-3200 Platinum Revision 2

I hope someone can help :) until then ill be playing gunbound :(

well... as a quick fix... i'd remove the side of your case.

err... what case are you using? are there fans blowing on the cards?

if not i'd look into installing some fans to keep your cards cooler.

as a temp fix though... you could try removing the side of your case and put a small personal fan or a box fan blowing into your system.

that's the poor man's solution to hot summer days.
