SLI Stress Test

rthdribl does stess an SLI Setup. Try increasing the Resolution and make sure the "SLI Rendering Mode" is set to "Auto" other wise it might only use 1 gpu.

Well, I suppose you could loop 3dmark06 over and over and over and over and over and over.....etc.

Thanks for your feedback. Where is the SLI Rendering Mode setting? I have the 'Enable SLI multi-GPU' checkbox checked in my driver settings.

I'm running it full screen but only one of my GPUs shows a temp increase.

Run rthdribl, open the skull model, and hit the number 8 key to turn on 16x AA. Then open up a second instance of rthdribl and do the same thing. That'll give your cards something to sweat over...😛

Download this (Coolbits) and install the reg entry.

Then go back and select auto.

Sorry if I seem a little thick here. 🙂 I have had coolbits installed all along. Where is the 'auto' setting you are talking about...in the drivers or in the rendering program? Under what menu(s)?

Thanks,
cxP

Dont worry about setting the rendering mode to auto. If you have never touched it, its fine. No need to ever mess with it really.

Once you enable SLI int the driver control panel you are fine.

This isn't true for my experiences with SLI. NV has not created a profile for rthdribl, so it defaults to single card mode. You can easily tell this by the fact that GPU1 heats up considerably when rthdribl is launched, but GPU2 stays at the same temp. This was the case the last time I had an SLI rig, which was about 2 months ago. This may have changed since then.

For instructions on how to create a profile:

This is actually useful to know when you own an SLI rig anyway, since it's almost inevitable that you will need to create a profile for something at one point.

edit: IMO, the best "stress test" for a video card is to loop the Canyon Flight benchmark in 3DMark06 or play Oblivion. These two things specifically really seem to put video cards through their paces.
