SLI Question

I'm planning on picking up an eVGA Geforce 7900GT. I'm getting an SLI compatible motherboard, and later down the road, I might get another 7900GT to run them in SLI. I know that both cards have to have the same GPU, but does it matter if I mix and match the brand and clock speed? I just fear I won't be able to find the exact video card in the future when I decide to go to SLI.

Ok Great. One more thing, if the cards don't match clock speed, will they both default to the slowest or will each run at their respected speed?

I would use coolbits to make sure they clock the same independently before I merge them with SLI. Just put one in, clock it to what you want, take it out, put the other one in, clock it the same, and then combine them. I've heard mixed rumors as to whether clocking them with both installed effects one or both, so I would just make sure by doing them sepearately and then putting them together.

all you have to do is make sure you have 2x 7900gt, if they are different clock speeds, they will both run at the slower speed. If you have two different speed cards, just oc the weaker one. Welcome to the forums!
