SLI question

I have a BFG 7800GT OC card and I'm going to buy an SLI board. I have read
a few bits about not needing 2 identical cards from the same manufacturer, just
cards based on the same gpu. Is this true. I am buying the MSI K8N NEO 4 SLI F
board and would like to buy an EVGA 7800GT as the second card because I can
get it alot cheaper than the BFG card I have now. The core and memory speeds
are different on the 2 cards but the same gpu.

yep, any 7800GT will work, but the clock speeds will drop to the lower clocked one though...but you can easily OC both after enabling SLI.

but you cant mix 7800GT/7900GT. only the same gpu.

Will the clock and memory adjustment be automatic or will I have to make adjustments myself.
Do you know of any problems I might run into configuring the set up with 2 different
cards and what should I be prepared for setup wise. This will be my first SLI setup
and all the info I can get ahead of time will help.
