SLI on Crossfire Boards

Now the X58 is in mainstream use, have anyone stripped out the bios yet to figure out how to get SLI on older crossfire boards? I know Nvidia left two ways open for SLI, either buy there chip or let them mod the boards bios. I am just curious if that programming can be stripped out and plugged into older chipsets like the P45 or P35 boards.
