Sli Not Working

I have two BFG Tech 8800GTS 640mb cards installed, with the SLI cable. I installed the newest drivers and it doesnt say anywhere in the software anything about SLI. I think theres an issue because one of the cards is showing as a 8800GTX for some reason. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Did you enable SLI in the Nvidia Control Panel? Run 3dMark and compare from you single card scores. GPUZ doesn't recognize SLI setup. I speak from experience and many agree. For example, my setup is shown as a G92 512MB card.

SLI detection works partially based off of the GPU's model. If the model's don't match, he driver won't give you the option to enable SLI.

Does the one card show up as an 8800GTX before Windows is loaded? Is it possible that the card's BIOS was flashed previously? Someone might have tried flashing it with the 8800GTX BIOS to get a higher overclock out of it.

The cards were both bought new, one from newegg and the other abotu 4 months before at Compusa. We just pulled both cards and figured out that the new one is an Extreme. Is there a way to use these cards together? I ordered another extreme from Newegg lastnight. I have an 8800GTS 640mb thats not going to be used now
