SLI no worky on Vista 64

Vista 64 refuses to acknowledge that I could do SLI with my two 7800GTX's in there. Yes I've tried everything, I think! DFI Lanparty SLI-DR Expert, so in BIOS I have 8x-8x-_-x and "Dual 6600 Support" turned off (have tried with that on btw). Got latest forceware. Uninstalled, reinstalled, safe mode, the lot. Correctly powered with 6 pin connectors.

My theory is that it has everything to do with Vista64 being DirectX 10 and my GPUs being DirectX 9.

Diagnosis? Any cure for this?

I would think you should use the oldest drivers you can get for the 7800GTXs.

In my opinion though, a single Geforce 8800GS is equivalent to both those 7800GTXs in SLI and can be had for under $60 if you look in the right places. Those 7800s also must use quite a bit of power. If you cant get those cards working in SLI in Vista64 and dont have a copy of Windows XP, then it would probably be more cost efficient getting a new video card.
